At South Florida State College (SFSC), your success is very important to us. We have a variety of services in place to help you succeed while at the College and assist you in pursuing a prosperous future.
SFSC partners with BayCare to offer free behavioral health services to students. The BayCare Student Assistance Program can be utilized for free via email or phone, 24 hours a day, seven days a week by visiting BayCare’s custom online portal, calling 800-878-5470, or emailing BayCareSAP@baycare.org.
The Career Development Center at SFSC helps students and the community with job searches and preparation. Dress for Success is available through the Career Development Center. It offers gently used interview and office attire to SFSC students and alumni for free. It is housed on the Highlands Campus, has a large range of sizes and styles for men and women, and inventory changes constantly.
Disability Services at South Florida State College provides reasonable accommodations for all otherwise qualified individuals with documented disabilities.
The Farmworker Career Development Program helps migrant and seasonal farmworkers and their dependents realize greater economic stability through career services, training services, youth services, and related assistance. By participating in this program, migrant and seasonal farmworkers can achieve economic self-sufficiency, better pay, and a stable employment future. The Farmworker Career Development Program is free to those who meet the criteria.
The Library offers a variety of free or low cost services for SFSC students at every campus location. The Library also hosts free-to-attend events throughout the year which can include workshops, celebrations, and colloquiums.
The Panther Youth Partners program provides youth with services that will develop and strengthen employability skills, talents, and interests. It is our desire for youth to gain valuable information that they can draw upon, when seeking employment or when deciding upon a career change, throughout their life. Panther Youth Partners is free to those who meet the criteria.
Pete’s Pantry is a food, health, and hygiene item pantry that is available for free to the students, staff, and faculty of SFSC. The Pantry is located on the Highlands Campus in Building B, Room 167B. Use of the Pantry is confidential and items can be sent to other campuses for those in need. The Tutoring and Learning Center promotes academic success by providing free services to all currently enrolled students at the College, students who are participating in approved programs, and alumni of the College. No matter what the assignment, campus, or skill level, the TLC offers the support you need to excel in your courses.
At the DeSoto Campus, The Tutoring Pod is a special corner of the library that is dedicated to students for Zoom tutoring with the tutors from the Academic Center for Excellence (ACE). A widescreen monitor, webcam, and microphone are set up and headphones are available upon request. Students can receive virtual tutoring in writing, math, and Anatomy and Physiology. A QR code is ready to be scanned at The Tutoring Pod, which leads students directly to the SFSC LibCal link for scheduling.
